Sipping a simmering mug of frothy hot chocolate is one of my greatest pleasures. Nothing quite beats the smooth, silky taste of chocolate in the afternoon - especially after a busy day at University.

So, I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem of a cafe in the heart of Hackney, right near the bustling Homerton High Street and Homerton Hospital. Nestled between a workman's cafe and a theatre, is hard to spot. But, this is all part of the charm. The cafe, with its quirky wooden tables, topsy-turvy seating and friendly, personable staff, offers a welcome break from London life.

Alongside the delicious hot chocolate, pictured above, the cafe offers home made cakes, sandwiches and other snacks.

46 Espresso Hut, a relatively new addition to Brooksby's Walk, offers refuge to a range of cosmopolitan Londoners and is an enjoyable place for a hot drink and a break.
