Sometimes you might find yourself sitting indoors staring at the walls, thinking to yourself, "I really should get out more." Problem is, you need some inspiration, some exciting ideas, some motivation. Well, there's really no excuse now, as
The Outdoors Show is about to set up for four days at ExCel in London.
The show is a great opportunity for lovers of the great outdoors to enjoy fun hands-on activities, enjoy the wisdom and wit of guest speakers, and browse the enormous range of clothing and equipment brought to the show by traders from across the country.
This year's event features attractions such as the
Climbing Village,
Photography Village, the
Go Ape Zipwire and the
Food Lovers Britain Farmers Market.
For those interested in
a career in the outdoors, there'll be informative talks from a range of experts already with experience of doing so. Speakers include snowsports instructor Aimee Britton, expedition leader Gerry Moffatt, and outdoor careers specialist Andrew Bird.
With more than 100 exhibitors specialising in outdoor pursuits also attending the event, it has all the makings of a great day out.
Tickets for the event are cheaper if you buy in advance. On the door, adults will be required to fork out £20 (£16 in advance); seniors £15 (£13 in advance); and students with valid ID £15 (£13 in advance). Children under 16 can get in for free, but still need to get a ticket - a maximum of four child tickets are allowed per paying adult. A special group price is available for parties of 10 or more adults with tickets at just £12 each.
Oh, and if you're still not persuaded - how about this: a ticket for The Outdoors Show also gets you into three other shows running at the same time - The Active Travel Show, The London Bike Show and the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show. Sounds like a real bargain to me.
