Keeping fit and active is all part of a healthy lifestyle, but unfortunately what is healthy for the body, often ends up making your wallet feel rather sickly. Joining a gym is expensive; if you attend regularly, then you definitely get your money's worth, but a lot of us get sidetracked by other commitments, and end up paying for facilities we don't end up using.
If you are one of those people who want need to squeeze in activities where you can, rather than make regular sessions, then there are places that offer free activities. These are sometimes one offs, or if you're lucky, permanent features.
The problem is finding them. Do you know of any gyms, fitness centres, or sports that have freebies, or low priced activities?
The YMCA has Y Fitness centres in Surbiton, Wimbledon, Kingston Upon Thames, and Hampton. Depending on which one you go to, you can get access to tennis courts, gyms, and various fitness classes.
If you have never been to a YMCA Y Fitness centre before, then you can print off a Day Pass, entitling you free use of all their facilities for the entire day. If you look at the timetable of your chosen venue, you can choose day with the classes you are most interested in, such as Body Combat, Aerotone, Circuit Training, and more.
If you decide you like them, you can either get a membership, or pay as you go.
Virgin Active have fitness centres all across the country. Membership is expensive, but you can get a free tour of their facilities if you are interest.
If you enjoy tennis, then they are also currently offering free group coaching. You will learn about the technical and tactical elements of the game, such as the types of shots you can make, and when to use them.
As well as having trendy sports shop, Reebok also have FitHubs. Their newest FitHub in Chelsea, 35-36 King's Road, SW3 4NB will be having a grand launch on the 7th June. This will include will include free fitness classes, demonstrations, and advice. The event will be going on from 11am-7pm, but if you can't make it, there will be further free classes throughout the year. There will be Crossfit, a Spartan obstacle race, fitness challenges, and prizes to be won.
