As the sunshine has finally decided to make an appearance in the South why not head out for some good old fashioned fresh air. Head to Esher in Surrey where you find a quaint little village that is home to Garson's PYO Farm and Garden Centre. This farming company has been running since 1871 and it makes for a beautiful day out during the summer.
The PYO farm is the largest of its kind in the UK. There are 150 acres of flowers, fruit and vegetables all for you to pick, weigh and buy. The crops include: beetroot; strawberries; raspberries; cherries; runner beans; peas and sunflowers-to name but a few.
All crops are easily accessible, with free parking nearby. It's a great day out in the fresh air for all the family! Prices and availability obviously vary- a kg of strawberries will set you back £3.99.
After a sweaty afternoon of picking your crops under the sun you can retire to the onsite farm café for a spot of cream tea or a fully cooked homemade meal. The restaurant features homemade cakes, sandwiches and hot dishes as well as brand name ice creams, drinks and snacks.
It is situated at the entrance of Garsons is part of the garden centre where you can enjoy a little retail therapy.
Monday – Saturday, 9am – 6pm Sunday, 11am – 5pm (Garden Centre opens at 10:30 on Sunday mornings for browsing) Pick Your Own opens at 9am on Sundays
