The area around the Thames that spreads in length from Lambeth Bridge east to St Saviour's Dock, has amazing views of the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and St Paul's Cathedral. Also, there are a number of free events going on here, almost every other day.

Making the Modern World, Glimpses of Medical History, Exploring Space, The Launchpad, etc are some of the galleries worth visiting.
Portobello Road Market is one of the longest in London. Going back in years to 1870, when it first started, visit it for antiques, fashion and food stalls. Also in the vicinity is the famous Notting Hill.
Okay, so you have heard about it, but seeing it in person is a totally different experience. At the heart of Greenwich and the 0 degree longitude that divides the world in two, this collection of Museums is not to be missed. Also watch out for the Observatory and a scenic view of the London skyline.
